Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Solar Partner ("we", "our", "us") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information in connection with the Solar Partner mobile and web applications and related services. We emphasise minimal data collection and privacy-by-design across the product.
Our Privacy Commitment
Solar Partner is engineered with privacy by design. We deliver professional solar analytics while minimising collection of personal data. We do not collect or retain email addresses, phone numbers, full physical addresses, or precise device location tracking by default.
Privacy by Default
We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate and improve the app.
Where needed, we call third-party services to provide core functionality. We limit shared data to what is strictly necessary and prefer ephemeral requests (not stored).
| Service Type | Purpose | Data Shared | Privacy Impact |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solar Data APIs (e.g. Open-Meteo) | Provide radiation and weather data for analysis | Coordinates for the requested computation (one-time, not persisted by us) | Minimal; data used to compute results and discarded |
| Analytics (e.g. Firebase Analytics) | Performance and usage metrics | Aggregated, anonymized event data | No personal identification; opt-out available per platform |
| Crash Reporting (e.g. Crashlytics) | Debugging and stability reports | Technical logs; we avoid including identifiable personal data | Used to fix issues; retained briefly for debugging |
| Advertising | N/A | None | We do not use behavioral advertising |
Legal Disclosure
We may disclose information if required by law (e.g., subpoena, court order). Because we collect minimal personal data, such disclosures are expected to be extremely limited.
Security Measures
- Encryption: All network traffic uses HTTPS/TLS.
- Access Controls: Vendor access is limited and audited.
- Audit & Testing: Periodic security reviews and vulnerability scans.
- Patch Management: Infrastructure and dependencies are regularly patched.
Data Retention Policy
- Coordinates / Solar requests: Processed in real time; not retained by default.
- Project Data: Stored locally on device. If you opt into cloud backups, those backups are retained per your backup settings and our cloud provider policy.
- Anonymous Analytics: Retained for 24 months, then deleted.
- Crash Reports: Retained for up to 90 days for debugging, then purged.
Deleting your data: Because we do not retain personal identifiers by default, there is no central personal profile to delete. Device project data may be removed via app settings, by clearing app data, or by uninstalling the app. If you opted into cloud backup, contact privacy@solarpartner.app to request deletion of backups.
